Mi Escuelita Friends and Families,

I pray that you and your family are safe and healthy during this challenging time. At Mi Escuelita we have so many families that we care for every day. The 850 families we serve, the 106 Mi Escuelita staff and their families who serve us and the countless friends and families that support Mi Escuelita. We all work together to ensure that futures are a little brighter for our children.

The COVID-19 virus has left our entire community worried and uneasy. At Mi Escuelita we join our community in doing all that we can to combat the spread of this virus. Following the lead of our fellow education partners, the suggestions of the CDC and our City of Dallas leaders, Mi Escuelita will be temporarily closed until further notice.

During this time, our staff will be working remotely from their homes.  Although our teachers will not be caring for the children they love so much at Mi Escuelita, they will be keeping their families safe and isolated and working on lesson plans and activities for our reopening.

For many of the families we serve, this closure may create a hardship. We make a vow to you that we will reopen as soon as it is possible and responsible to do so. We are monitoring the situation daily and will keep everyone informed of our status.

To our families:

Changes in routine are very difficult for adults but for our little ones a change in routine can be quite confusing. Please take this time to engage at home with your child. Read books, play games, bond over fun filled activities. Our education team has listed many activities that you can share with your child. You can view these activities at

To our friends:

As you are caring and planning for your own families needs, we ask that you also consider the needs of the families we serve and the families of the staff that serve them. We covet your thoughts and prayers and hope that you consider supporting our program as we navigate these uncharted waters.

We will continue to keep you informed of our progress, challenges and victories. If you have any questions, please email us at

Together, Dallas is a powerful community and we will overcome this current crisis. And through it all, our focus will always remain on our children’s future.
