Volunteers Clean Up Storm Damage
A team of volunteers from Trinity United Methodist Church in Lindsborg, Kansas came to the rescue for Mi Escuelita. With less than a month before classes start the 14 volunteers cleaned up the debris from the playground area and made sure that the playground will be safe for children to play on once school begins. The Crossover playground was damaged during the storms on June 11th when a large tree fell crushing the playground fence and the equipment next to the fence.
The 11 high school students and 3 adults from Trinity United Methodist Church were in Dallas for the church’s youth mission program. Their mission work included coming to Dallas for four days and helping area nonprofit organizations including Mi Escuelita. In addition to cleaning up the storm debris from the Crossover playground the group held a drive and collected school supplies for the pre-k students who will be attending classes at Mi Escuelita’s Crossover campus beginning in August.
